Yes, it’s finally February, and even though I would love to make some scholarly connection between Groundhog Day and the liturgical calendar, I’ll just say that ANY Sunday is a great one to be in church! So come worship at LPC tomorrow, February 2, where we will read part 2 of Jesus’ first public sermon and act of ministry—the congregation’s response. (Spoiler alert! It did NOT go over well!) The text is Luke 4:21-30. My sermon is titled Finally, some Good News, part 2. (So maybe since it’s a deja vu kind of sermon we are observing Groundhog Day in church after all!)
Please note, although it is the first Sunday of the month, worship tomorrow will not include communion. Worship next Sunday, February 9, will include communion, followed by a Super-bowl themed potluck.
And don’t forget to register for the upcoming presbytery-wide intergenerational book group.
