Scout Troop 150

Writer's picture: Lakeview Presbyterian Lakeview Presbyterian

On August 28th Jack Whitney and Maggie Whitney were honored at an Awards Ceremony at Lakeview Presbyterian Church, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the

highest honor in the Scouts BSA, Boy Scouts of America. This Troop has been in partnership with LPC for many years and we are proud to support all they do to encourage young men and women. Each Scout has to develop a service project that will support the community. Jack's project was to construct a solar panel mobile charging station for the town of Montegut, LA for the days immediately following Hurricane Ida. Maggie's service for the community was to organize a large food distribution project for the days immediately following Hurricane Ida for the areas most affected by the storm. For this she earned the Council's highest award, the Silver Pelican. It should be noted that Maggie is also one of the first female Eagle Scouts in their Council and the very first in Troop 150. We are very proud of these young people, who also happen to be siblings. Congratulations!
